BIOGRAPHY OF THE AUTHOR

Dorta Raffaella was born in Milan on October 26, 1974, and since she was little, she has loved painting so much that she begins targeted studies in the middle school attached to the Art Institute with a focus on cabinetmaking. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Perugia in painting and art history.

He begins his working path with trompe l'oeil, a painting genre that deceives the viewer into looking at real and three-dimensional objects painted on a wall.

He subsequently specializes in forgeries and finds maximum expression in the reproduced paintings of Caravaggio, whom he loves, and in the expressionists, meticulously reproducing Van Gogh, Modigliani, Matisse, Gauguin.

The highest expression of his way of being, however, comes with realism and hyperrealism. A natural portraitist, he loves to depict what is commissioned to him in a meticulous and realistic manner.

In an attempt to give voice to the characters he paints on the canvas, he arrives at Surrealism, where his fine and perfect painting technique marries the deeper aspects of the psyche.

Through Surrealism, in fact, Dorta expresses a higher reality, made of irrationality and dream: from here come works where people can reflect on the various paths of their own mind.
